Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were large and well-appointed, but the location was a bit noisy for me. The service was a letdown due to inexperienced staff, but the dining was excellent. Overall, a decent stay with some ups and downs.
The hotel combines an historic quiet town with easy access to explore places like York and Harrogate. The rooms were a little old fashioned but did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. The service was excellent, with friendly and helpful staff like Jan, Kate, and Andrew. The dining experience had good quality ingredients, but some items seemed reheated. The location in Boroughbridge offers great exploring options, although the hotel itself needs refurbishment.
The hotel had a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were a bit dated and too warm with very hot water, but they were impeccably clean and offered luxurious touches like a Nespresso machine and lavender bed linen spray. The service was exceptional with efficient and pleasant staff, especially Tracey and Emma. The location was excellent, being central with lovely amenities like a pool and gym. On the flip side, the dining experience fell short with average food quality at a somewhat high price point.
